Designing Between Two Intelligences

Robotic embodiments and AI are rapidly becoming part of our everyday lives – from robots working alongside us in factories to AI-powered companions at home. We see this shift everywhere: robots are appearing in an ever-growing range of shapes, forms, and sizes, from vacuum cleaners, AI agents on our phones to humanoid robots competing in running championships.
As robots become more capable and present in our lives, designing the experiences and interactions around them will become an increasingly important task for designers. The boundaries between hardware and software UX will continue to blur, creating new challenges and opportunities for our design discipline.
This talk explores the UX development of the humanoid robot Agile ONE and the thinking behind designing a multi-purpose humanoid for industrial contexts.

Sebastian Aumer
UX Designer
Sebastian has spent the past three years at Agile Robots, where he leads a UX/UI team of specialized designers working at the intersection of physical and digital design. His team's focus is on complex robotic software platforms and humanoid robots, bringing human-centered design principles to products that are redefining what interaction with technology looks like.
In a market increasingly saturated with functionally similar products, Sebastian is a vocal advocate for a simple idea: UX and emotional design are not nice-to-haves, they're the differentiator.
