Breakout session

Design is a practice, so we want to go beyond talking about it at PUSH UX. Our breakout sessions offer to engage with topics hands-on, and in a more personal group setting.

We are looking for interactive sessions from across the spectrum of UX and product, and we’re excited for your proposal!

Bring your activity to PUSH UX

Your format can be a roundtable discussion, knowledge sharing, tool or process training, a mini-meetup, co-creation or similar.

Breakout Sessions at PUSH are run by one or two hosts.

Each breakout lasts 60 minutes, and happens once on per day.

Depending on the topic, chosen format, and sign-ups a session typically include 20-40 participants.

As a session host you will of course receive a free ticket for both conference days. We're also able to cover the cost of workshop materials to make sure you and your participants can enjoy a professional creative activity.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to submit a proposal or speak?

No. Submitting proposals and hosting breakout sessions at PUSH is completely free of any cost to you if you're selected by the curators board.

Do you support travel and accomodation?

Breakout sessions are a great small-scale format to get involved at the event if you’re planning to attend anyways.

As host you'll receive a free ticket and catering for the full event. Hosts cover travel and accommodation themselves, usually through work. As we try to accept as many submissions as possible, we are not able to cover travel or accommodation as a rule for all hosts.

If you have requests regarding costs coverage e.g. because you’re producing workshop artefacts like a card deck please share them in the form under “Anything else you'd like to let us know when reviewing your application?”.

Is there a template to prepare my content?

Yes! Simply make copy of this Google doc and you're ready to go.

Is there a deadline?

No. We review submissions on an ongoing basis rather than at a single date.

The sooner you send yours, the sooner we can consider your proposal in the curators board.

Since the narrative of the program evolves over time, we might reach out to you quickly or closer to the conference. We aim to give you regular updates on the status of your submission.

Can I submit multiple proposals?

Of course! Here's how:

  1. Start the flow in the submissions form below. The first step is to create a host profile so that you only need to enter this information once.

  2. Submit your first breakout session or talk proposal.

  3. At the end of the flow you can choose to submit another proposal, if you have the details ready right now. You can repeat this as often as you like.

  4. Alternatively if you want to add one proposal now and others later, you can use the personalised link we send to you in your submission confirmation email. With that link you can start a new submission any time in the future. This way we can connect all your proposals to your existing host profile, no matter when you submit them.

Can I submit a proposal on behalf of a colleague?

Yes. In this case it is your responsibility to ensure that you have their consent to share their personal data and their content.

What languages can my session use?

The official language of the conference is English. This includes all talks, breakout sessions and workshops.

Please submit your proposal in English, and be prepared to host your session in English.

Content samples and talk samples can be submitted either in English (preferred) or German.

Should I buy a ticket while waiting for a decision?

If you want to attend the conference also if you’re also invited as a host, we recommend you buy a ticket as soon as possible. This way you can be sure to have a seat, and get the best possible price.

If your proposal is accepted later, we will of course switch you to a free host pass and fully refund your guest ticket.

Ready to submit?
