Indi is a researcher who coaches, writes, and teaches about inclusive product strategy. Her work is rooted in the problem space where the focus is on people, not users. Indi pioneered opportunity maps, mental model diagrams, and thinking styles. Her way of approaching the problem allows teams to truly pay attention to people, without letting cognitive bias and assumptions creep in. Indi has written two books, Practical Empathy and Mental Models. Her next book, Assumptions Aside, will cover thinking styles. She builds knowledge and community via a series of live online advanced courses about the importance of pushing the boundaries of your perspective. She was one of the founders of Adaptive Path, the pioneering UX agency.

Daniel Burka

Director of Product and Design at Resolve to Save Lives

Daniel Burka is a product manager and designer who focuses on solving complex global health problems in simple ways.

He is the director of product and design at the not-for-profit Resolve to Save Lives, where he spends the majority of my time on the open source project, Simple. Simple is used by two thousands hospitals in India, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia to manage over 400,000 patients with hypertension.

Previously Daniel was a designer and entrepreneur. He worked on the original Firefox, directed design at Digg, was at Slack before it was Slack, sold a company called Milk to Google, and was then a design partner at Google Ventures for five years.
