Shifting the Bias - Co-creation in Med Tech

Most of today's medical products were designed over the heads of those who are supposed to benefit from them. This has introduced a major bias in these products, as they mostly serve the needs of medical professionals and are rated by whether they improve the functioning of someone but not their lives. But what happens if you turn that around?

We are developing a fitness tracker in a close co-creation setup with people with physical disabilities. What did we learn from turning the existing paradigm around? What did we do, in which areas were we successful with our approach, and what limitations did we find? I will talk about the workshops we did, what we learned from them, how this influenced the prototype we are building, and how AI helps us get a step closer to personalized care.
