Emotional User Interfaces

Lightning Talk:

Nowadays personalisation is everywhere in our digital and physical worlds. So a future, in which these devices include technologies that recognise our emotion and act upon them, doesn't seem too far away. As these technologies emerge, new challenges for how we design products arise.

Laura’s talk 'Emotional User Interfaces' is all about what we as Designers can do to augment Human-Computer-Interaction with emotion. She will address the challenge, explain what Emotional User Interfaces are and show some basic guidelines for designing them – so you feel inspired to create with emotion in mind.

About Laura

Laura received a Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Media Design at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt while working as a UX Designer for startups and creative agencies alike. She loves to build experiences, stories and concepts that solve problems and delight people.

Creating for everything from apps for web and mobile to products for the internet of things and ambient intelligent systems, she learned that design is everywhere. To Laura being a designer means envisioning the future and shaping it in a meaningful way – while hopefully also having a little fun.

In her latest project, in collaboration with the Fraunhofer IGD, Laura set out to explore emotion in technology and create a draft for a truly emotional interface. Her findings and ideas bring her here to push.conference.
